Belgium’s WDP is investing over €107 mln in three new pre-leased logistics developments in the Netherlands and Romania.

The projects total 93,000 m2 and are expected to yield over 7.5%.
They cater to existing and new clients in food and third-party logistics, enhancing their supply chains through strategically located sites.
A major component is a €55 mln, 34,000 m2 refrigerated facility in Ridderkerk, Netherlands, for Kivits Logistics Group. This expands WDP's presence in the Dutch Fresh Port to 220,000 m² across five buildings.
This new facility, adjacent to an existing Kivits site, will optimize their international fresh produce distribution. The 20-year lease includes the new development and an extension on the existing property.
The building, designed with 25 cold stores and value-add logistics space, will be BREEAM-certified, solar-powered, and ready by the first half of 2026.
This project increases WDP's Dutch Fresh Port footprint to approximately 220,000 m2 across five buildings, serving major food distribution clients.
WDP is also adding two new warehouses totalling approximately 58,000 m2 to its Bucharest-DragomireČ™ti park in Romania, as part of a €52 mln investment.
One 47,000 m2 facility will include temperature-controlled, refrigerated, and freezer space, alongside an 11,000 m2 ambient warehouse. Both will be EDGE Advanced certified and leased to logistics providers for 10 years, with completion expected by the end of 2026.
The strategically located park, with excellent highway and ring road access, and proximity to the airport and Bucharest city centre, still has over 16,000 m2 available for future development.
Joost Uwents, CEO of WDP, commented: "We are excited about these new developments, where WDP's longstanding expertise and in-depth industry knowledge once again result in specialised, tailor-made real estate solutions. Despite the volatile macroenvironment, the continued demand for new developments validates the strong fundamentals of the sector and our clients' confidence in further expanding their operations.”
