Finnish construction company YIT has entered into an agreement with the Czech housing cooperative Ranta Barrandov IV to construct and sell three residential buildings in Prague.

RANTA Barrandov III project
This deal involves YIT building 69 cooperative apartments, which the housing cooperative will then sell to its members. These new units are part of the well-regarded Ranta Barrandov development, where YIT has previously completed market-rate housing. The agreement is valued at around €25 mln.
The Barrandov area is noted for blending urban amenities with a peaceful natural environment. The new buildings will feature a central square with seating, designed to foster community and enhance the neighbourhood's appeal.
Justyna Filipczak, EVP, Residential CEE at YIT, said: “The Barrandov project is an excellent example of how we are implementing our growth strategy in the Residential CEE segment. Through the housing cooperative model, we reach a new type of customer base, generate capital-efficient growth, and offer modern living in a sought-after area. We see strong demand for high-quality housing in Prague.”
YIT is well-positioned for continued expansion in the CEE region, supported by a substantial land bank with approved building rights. As of June 2025, YIT had initiated new residential projects in CEE and the Baltics totalling nearly €400 mln, with completion anticipated by 2026.
